Bedframe search

It seems I’ve been trying to find the right bedframe for about a million years now…

Here’s some of the options I’ve been looking at:

A spare, bamboo-headboard from CB2

tatamiThis dark-stained storage bed (pull-out drawers) from West Elm

storageand have been thinking of daybeds for a porch/greenhouse area, for extra sleep space for extra guests, like this Taru bed from Z Galleries

Brownie Bedrooms – ala GOOP

Thinking of sleep and bedrooms – I think I need an early night tonight, and rest up to trudge through the last of this interminal Ohio winter!

Found a kind of kitschy cute site, GOOP, that Gwyneth Paltrow has apparently set up so she can share her thoughts on all things about her life. I did peek around and found their February Newsletter about places to stay and eat in Paris.

I liked the contemporary but warm browns of this ‘luxury boutique’ hotel she highlighted, to be bookmarked whenever I’m back in Paris.

Attics and Wine Corks

Two neat ideas:

1. A fabric alcove in the attic from photographer Paul Massey

2. A wine cask for holding wine corks (my collection is outgrowing it’s vase) from MintDesign

Graphic/Sculptural – Iannone Design

Found the unique furniture artist/firm of Iannone Design while browsing 2Modern.com, and loved the graceful forms and modern sensibility of the pieces. Was particularly enjoying this Ginko-print Shelving pair:

Bed Head, Feet and Table options

So honey likes to stretch out in bed, lengthwise especially, and doesn’t want his feet tucked in at all, prefers them hanging over the bed. Which is all well and good, except that the drape-y, sloppy, overhang-y look isn’t exactly up to my clean and tidy preferences. Looking at Room&Board’s bedroom options, found the lovely Monica platform bed, with a clean upholstered head and footboard, which would suit my petite frame just swell:

On the other hand, their Wyatt bed, also with an upholstered headboard, would look similar, but wouldn’t cramp honey’s foot style. I like it well enough, and I did splurge on DwellStudio’s very lovely Hedgerow duvet cover (in chocolate brown) that would be showcased the more with the non-footboard style:

Decisions, decisions…

At least I’m pretty sure that I want to go with upholstered – even though there are some very lovely wood/metal options out there. I’d rather do a little more tactile-friendly on my actual bedframe, and then be free to choose whatever wood/metal schemes I’d like for the other furniture in the room, without being bound to find a ‘matching’ item or set.

For example, eye-balling these end tables (I want a table stand for one side, and a drawer or cabinet stand for the other) – no matchy matchies for me:
